Sunflower Mug by montdragon
Did you know that sunflowers are heliotropic and that Leonardo da Vinci described this phenomenon in his botanical studies? Various plants move in response to the sun the sunflower (not all sunflowers) in the bud stage does this until the bloom stage and typically faces east when mature. I love sunflowers they range in size and when in bloom can be stunning bright and beautiful like the sun. I choose a poem by William Blake he was an extraordinary artist as well as poet visionary and much more his Ancient Of Days is timeless I wonder what da Vinci or Blake and other masters would do with today’s technology? Anyway fill this mug with chamomile tea or a tisane of flowered teas and fruit, winter spring summer fall. And of course like the English a great cuppa from a warm brown betty with whatever tea suits you.

I have fallen in love with this mug....how beautifully perfect!!!

A Classic Beauty. The legend of Apollo and Clytie was always my favorite where sunflowers were concerned.

VERY LOVELY!

this is terrific!

Wonderful combination
of art and poetry on this lovely mug! And you must be a writer, you have such a wonderful way with words :) And, apparently a wide knowledge of the various cultures on this planet (based on your writings here and comments to me). I actually went to China two times (India is next on my list, and i hope to stay a rather long while) and you are so right about commerce. My favorite of theirs was this: at the hotels they collect dead batteries (to "prevent pollution" and then they sell them to tourists (ie me) in the most remote locations where you don't have options :) i hope you do get to go, and then i would love to see your shots and hear your stories :)

Great design!

Absolutely beautiful and touching!
Sunflowers are my favorite :)!

Very pretty...
You are just so informative!!

love this!
lovely choice of verse as well. I can't explain it, but for some reason, I really like that the roots are still on the flower!
