Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a famous Post- Impressionist painter, lithographer, and illustrator, who documented the Bohemian night life of the Montmartre section of Paris, focussing on the Rouge and other dance halls, along with the theatre and the circus. "Divan Japonais" shows the dancer Jane Avril, seated with the critic Eduard Dujardin who are watching a performance.

I LUV LUV Lautrec's work!!

He was a genius! There was a huge exhibition of Lautrec at the Smithsonian few years ago, and that was one of the best ones I've ever seen in my life!
