Art is based on the love all Haitians have for The STATUE OF NEG MAWON or MARRON INCONNU (THE RUN AWAY SLAVE)
To Haitians it is our Statue of Liberty.
This statue located across from the National Palace in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. It is often called Neg Mawon or Marron Inconnu it was designed by architect and sculptor Albert Mangones. It was done at about the time of the Bicentennial (1959).
