For Deaf Runners.... I have noticed that hearing loss can be safety issue while running in very large events. I wouldnt do the back sign for a little 5k or for school races, but i have done that for NYC marathon, Atl 1/2, and a 15k trail race that was run on narrow trails with mayself and other people passing eachother every time the trail opened from 2 feet to 3 feet!
