“NO IRISH NEED APPLY” a very popular anti-Irish jingo jingle very much like “Illegal Aliens Go Home.” I am in total agreement, we God fearing English speaking only Americans don’t want their kind here in AMERICA. “Them illegals are mostly Catholic and ignorant, can’t speak proper American English and undereducated and have ten to fifteen snotty nose brats. Taking all the great jobs, why ten families in one house they ain’t good for nothing but day labor anyway.” This was said then of the Irish and today of those who dare. You know the Irish came to America because they had a catastrophic event occur the Irish Famine one factor, also some political injustices and no work. Did they come legally or illegally? Does it matter? Sure it did for the bigoted and intolerant anti-Irish God fearing Americans of that day. The Statue of Liberty is a farce and intolerance and fear of anything is the order of the day. We have laws we are a nation of laws but there is something about real Americans and America called compassion and it is scarce. I do not approve or condone of illegal entry it diminishes the laws that currently exist nor endorse amnesty. But those that incite others in self righteous patriotic bigotry are the same as those who once said “NO IRISH NEED APPLY.” Guess what the Irish did very well and one Irishman even became the President of the United States of America. Amazing country amazing people we have a problem to solve. Of course the bigot will say it is “that countries problem making it our problem” same thing said when America was over run by the hungry scared Irish who would have preferred to remain in Ireland and other legal and illegal immigrants. If only we could have sent the Irish back and shipped African Americans back and killed off the Native Americans and kept the Japanese in concentration camps and by God displaced all the Mexicans off of American soil what a great country this would be…GOD BLESS AMERICA. Laws should be enforced, secure the border, punish the employers severely, deport criminals stop bigoted rhetoric and address the issue of immigration without the factor of racism and it is racial. Not all illegal immigration comes from the American Mexican border.
