There is little differences in the basic tenets of liberalism, socialism and communism; big government, strict oppressive regulation and the redistribution of wealth with the confiscation of private property. It's that simple. Paying for infrastructure with publicly received funds (taxes) is NOT socialism.

Quick: what are the differences between liberals, socialists, and communists? There ARE differences. BIG ones. Do you know what they are? Should I make "Gingerich is a Fascist" bumper stickers? Those would make about as much sense.

Social programs are not socialism. Your public library is socialism when the government takes 95% of citizen A's salary to pay for it because he was clever enough to innovate in the business world and god forbid be successful. The public library is socialism when it's abandoned because your economy just collapsed. Rinse and repeat with your other silly examples.

If we wanted a socialist country we could have stayed in England!! We are the home of the free because of the brave!! Capitalism works, it has surged us forward faster and more productive than any other society in history. You are correct, we don't support socialism. You seem to. You can promote society organized by coercion, rationing, war, centralized bureaucratic direction, political influence over human choice, and the rejection of free cooperation. We choose to fight those things.

I take your ‘invitation’ to emigrate at face value. Or, maybe you would prefer we go to some sort of camp until we understand what’s best for us.

I see that you don't like socialism. Please then do not call your police or fire department. Do not drink your tap water and do not go to your public library. Do not drive on public roads or highways because each of the preceding involves government employees. After all socialism involves government employees providing a service or product. I realize you don't want doctors working for the government but it also appears you don't like police officers, firemen, highway department people, librarians and water department employees working for the government either. Why don't you just create you own country and leave America if you don't like socialism? I didn't even mention that the military appears a socialist construct as well. Soldiers work for the government as well. I have a clue for you. Regular citizens create government so everyone of the above employees work for us.

Obama is a Socialist n the purest sense, his comment "we need to spread the wealth" says it all. If someone truly doesn't mind working half the year for the federal government, then fine, vote away. Personally, i find it offensive and degrading that there is this paternalistic, no exoerience, extreme leftist telling me he knows how to handle my money better than I do. If his plans come to fruition we will slide from recession to depression. Productive members of society like myself will not feel the need to be so productive (i.e. why the hell would I try for a promotion when it would put me in a tax bracket of over 50 percent?) That the man with 4 children in private school earning 250k a year by Obama's standards is "wealthy" is INSANE. It is megolomaniacal for him to think he can make a form of government (that being SOCIALIST) succeed when no one in history has. You can paint the rhetoric pretty but let's call a spade a spade, when someone wants to "spread the wealth" i.e. have me work and give my money to those who didn't earn it, he/she IS a socialist
