About this design
Orchid Postcard
Here we go again with the edible flower thing! Although each type of orchid has its own personality, I'm learning that some of the "myths" are true! Some orchids are edible and are used as garnish in culinary presentations. Vanilla is one of the examples of orchids being used for food. Both the seeds and surrounding pulp within the seed pod of the Vanilla orchid are used to make the extremely popular flavoring vanilla extract. Yummy! I"d prefer to spend my time sitting in the garden with them, for their inspiration, purity and simplicity. Not gnawing on Grandmas' Mothers Day corsage! Cymbidium orchids were once the most popular Mother’s Day corsage, making it an extremely popular variety. Cattleya orchids are still a popular choice of brides. But Butterfly orchids gained popularity in more modern arrangements because of their simplicity and elegance. The flower symbolism associated with the orchid is love, beauty, refinement, many children, thoughtfulness and mature charm. Let me know what you think of my rendition of the orchid. THIS print looks good in either the gloss or matte finish format. Your choice depends on the framing plans and the glass you incorporate. The piece as also available on greeting cards, post cards, United States Postage AND coffee cups! A set makes GREAT housewarming or wedding gifts!
