Tezcuco Plantation is another of the plantations that serve as a B&B. It is a gracious raised cottage, Greek Revival in style with elaborate wrought iron trimmed galleries, ornate friezes and medallions. It is one of the last built before the Civil War and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our 'room' was not a room at all but a complete building built in 1855. Let me explain: in back of the master house are rows of small out buildings that were used for all sorts of things, and these are used for the guests of today. The one we had at one time had been the quarters of the older bachelor boys of the family before they went off on their own.
