PLACE OF SACRED EAGLES Art Poster
PLACE OF SACRED EAGLES Art Poster
"Place of Sacred Eagles" depicts two wild Bald Eagles hunting in a place set apart from others. An Eagle Totem emerges from an old pylon, aged beyond time and yet still spiritually potent even today. This place is sacred to the native peoples of Vancouver Island, the place where Eagles fly in vast numbers, where they feed and where they breed. To scientific researchers it might be called a Bald Eagle Breeding Colony, but to the Haida, this place is a sacred one blessed with the Creator's energy. Eagles fly here, safe from care of human or predatory threat. They perform their aerobatic rituals and dance with the wind without encumbrance.

It is here that I feel the exhiliration of Eagle's freedom and Eagle's divine power, his right to exist. It is a site revered by the Haida people and the place is sacred to me as well.
