This is a quality reproduction of Odilon Redon's artwork "Roger and Angelica 2." Redon created three versions of "Roger and Angelica." This is the second, circa 1912. The artwork depicts a story told in the epic Renaissance poem "Orlando Furioso." In this poem Roger [Ruggiero] saves Angelica from sea serpents and dragons. It is a similar story to the Greek myth of Perseus and Andromeda, in which Perseus saves Andromeda from a monster that was about to devour her.
