I have considered myself an artist from the time someone praised me for my pre-school crayon drawings. I started out as a printmaker, migrated to ceramics and tapestry weaving, later drawing and painting, and most-recently to digital art. I like to scan my own drawings, paintings, and photographs, then enhance them digitally and add other materials to create mixed-media works. I have been a Peace Corps Volunteer (Brazil), art educator, art restorer, memoir-writing instructor, newspaper correspondent, art critic, published author, temp worker, customer service representative, political activist, and artist. I taught art and writing in public schools and community colleges for many years.
