C. J. Peiffer - Artist's Statement:

Throughout my life, I have created ceramic works, hand-wrought silver jewelry, wood sculptures, and detailed drawings and paintings in many media. I have produced silkscreen, woodcut, lithograph and intaglio prints and I have woven huge tapestries.

To create digital works, I begin with a drawing, painting, weaving, photograph or scanned object and utilize the computer to make it into something else, sometimes similar to the initial image and sometimes so different, the source material is unrecognizable.

My work ranges from my humorous cow art which I call 'visual puns' to more traditional florals and landscapes, surrealistic floating sky scultpures, and non-objective works. I create designs from architectural elements as well as imaginative portraits. I will never settle on one subject or style. My desire is to explore them all.
