Describes themself as: A traveler -not a tourist. Lover of animals, body surfing, good novels, shoes (from flip flops to heels), and spending time on "artsy things." However, I also have a serious side: I am concerned about non-sustainable palm oil plantations. After seeing rain forests ruined, adult animals killed, animal babies left orphaned and sometimes maimed, and local people realizing they've become sharecroppers in a dead-end venture that requires the constant clearing of land because eroded land without top soil is not sustainable, I decided I can do without microwave popcorn, certain brands of flavored coffee creamer, hair products, crackers and cold cereal that contain palm oil. Do I need a slightly longer shelf life at THAT cost ? Nope. I never thought I would be reading food labels for anything other than nutritional concerns. I hope more people will learn the true story about palm oil. Every trip to the grocery store is a chance to make a difference in the world.

Personal Interests: dabble in this... dabble in that... and enjoy life along the way.

Artistic Interests: Photos and Photoshop color variations. I enjoy sharing art via snail mail note cards--and sending them with the wonderful postage stamps from ZAZZLE. I am a fan of artists DJ Hall (great Palm Springs scenes--especially the signature piece at the Palm Springs Art Museum) and BJ Briner (assorted fun things out of New Mexico.) There is not one space left on my walls for any more art.
