Rebecca Dru began her music training at the tender age of 3 on piano. Born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, she comes from a musical family of seven children with an Opera singing mom and a dad who plays a mean Juanita on the organ. Rebecca has been living in Los Angeles, California for over 29 years, where she frequently works as a singer on recording sessions. She has also written songs for syndicated television and movies and has been a featured guest artist and teacher at UCLA as well as her songs featured on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.. She was a winner in the ‘97 John Lennon Song Contest, the 1999 PARENT'S GUIDE TO CHILDREN'S MEDIA Awards, the 1999 GoGirls.com internet award, the 1999 CHILDREN’S MUSIC WEB AWARDS and the 1999 JUST PLAIN FOLKS MUSIC AWARD as well as being nominated for a Grammy. Rebecca Dru was a featured artist on TempoItaliano.com which specializes in Italian music. Personal Interests: Boogie Boarding for hours.....Travel, especially to Europe and Tropical Islands.....working on my 10,000+ photo collection and taking more shots daily.....fun and laughter with friends and family..celebrating life...swimming,...long walks with my dogs....and my husband and daughter when they can join me.....cooking great gourmet meals in 10 minutes.... My favorite is to just curl up with my husband and watch All My Children.
Artistic Interests: I so enjoy writing with my most recent collaborator, Lyricist, Susan Santiago. I like working with computers....between photographs, art, music and writing all the things for which it's useful.
