Red floppy or stiffy disk: Those were the days Greeting Card
Remember the 3 1/4" floppy disk (or disc as the English calls it)? Some called this one a stiffy, simply because it was hard and less floppy. Of course you don't know what this is - you're way too young! That is how we saved and transported data in the old days. Using magnetic floppy disks. You would put them into a slow, noisy floppy drive and hope for the best. And boy, were these floppies unreliable after a couple of uses. In the beginning you could fit a whole computer game on them. Then games became bigger ... The hard drive came later.
This old computer inspired hat is the perfect gift for those who remember DOS (be it on the Apple or the IBM PC) and learned how to program in BASIC. Yes, that was a programming language! Not to mention COBOL... Oh yes, do any of you remember King's Quest?
