This photograph features a Red Robin in the snow.
When I waas a child many, many moons ago the song "When the Red, Red Robin (Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along)" was an absolute favourite of mine. Written in 1926 by Harry M Woods, this song was recorded by many artists, but Al Jolson had one of the most popular versions.
The song was recorded in 1953 by Doris Day, and again reached considerable success on the charts.
It is said that ,the Robin has Christ's blood on its breast because it visited the crucifixion and tried to pull the thorns from Christ's head.
