The Osborne computer was the first portable, actually a luggable. Designed by Adam Osborne in 1981, it weighed 24.5 lbs and cost $1795. It spawned computer clubs across the country which spread the concept of freeware. This mousepad was designed by the Freeware Hall of Fame.

Its incredible how far we have come in such a short period of time with this invention,Not that I am taking any credit. I am just a two finger novice puter user but love the little time I spend online just surfing and looking at everything I can.I remember the first time I put on a snorkling mask and stuck my face in the water in Hawaii. There was a whole new different world I didnt know existed and it was so full of new things to discover and every time I went back there were new things to look at. I got lost timewise and had to keep coming up for air. I dare to compare as the world of the computer and the internet is also a place that I get so involved in that I must force myself to take a break or else take the chance of being under{the influence] for too long.It crosses all age barrierr's and has made the world a smaller place.Your design surly conveys the thought of beginnings ,I will be back to buy and post a picture. I wanted to catch a first post spot. Keep up the good work and I look forward to new ideas you keep coming up with. Daniel R Baisley Sr
