First off, I would like to express my sincere "Thanks" for visiting my gallery. I'm excited about sharing my love of Nature in its varied forms with you. My goal is to offer my very best quality work for you to enjoy and purchase if you so choose. I consider it a blessing whenever anyone visits here and your comments are deeply appreciated. I plan to become active in the Zazzle community with other members and lend my support in any way I can.

I have always had a love affair with Nature. I've hiked in some of the most beautiful and pristine places in the U.S. and Canada. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera back then and knew little about photography in terms of some of the more technical aspects.

Since my adolescence, I have always been attracted to the "Transcendentalist" writers of the mid-1800's like Emerson, Thoreau, and Wordsworth. I've also been very enamored of Taoism and Zen Buddhism--especially the interconnectedness of Nature and spirituality inherent in them. Special thanks go to Jane English and Gia-Fu Feng (now deceased) whose translation of the "Tao Te Ching" and "Chuang-Tsu: The Inner Chapters" has been a tremendous inspiration to me. Jane's monochromes and color images capture the essence of Taoism. I recommend her website http://www.eheart.com to those interested. More recently, the awesome sepia images of Don Hong-Oai, Chinese Photographer, now deceased, have inspired me.

Most importantly, however, has been my life-long friendship with Jonathan Wallen, a successful free-lance photographer, (www.jonathanwallenphotography.com) whose work, mentoring, and encouragement have made all the difference to me. I would be remiss if I also did not mention my friends and mentors at Ask the Ole Pro About Photography at MSN Groups. It is there that I expanded my understanding of both the technical and aesthetic aspects of photography which is by no means complete. I'm still a work in progress.

All that being said, my hope is that you will experience the joy, serenity, wholeness, and connectedness I feel when I'm immersed in Nature's majesty or just capturing a moment in Life in general that "speaks" to me. My sincere hope is that my work/products communicate something of that experience to you.
