Rousseau's "Mandrill in the Jungle" (circa 1909) Mouse Pad
A classic artwork that has passed into the public domain and makes wonderful gifts and other products.
"Mandrill in the Jungle" is a fun painting as it focuses closeup on the monkey, making it seem overly large like a giant ape of some sort as it peers through the trees.
Rousseau was one of those unfortunate artist who gained respect only posthumously. Looked down upon because of his "Naive" or "Primitive" style, recognition grew after his death and his art has been quite influential. A French post-impressionist painter, he is best known for paintings depicting jungle scenes.
