Somewhere between the luscious chord play of the Beatles, and the humor of the Barenaked Ladies, you will find The Scharff Brothers, a full fledged alt/pop/rock-n-roll world wrapped in the skin of a couple of brothers with guitars. After having appeared on the nationally syndicated Donny and Marie show in 1999, the Brothers released a 6 song EP including the song “Scary (Christopher Walken)”. In August of 2001 that song was included on the “A Low Watt Document” compilation from Atlanta-based Shut Eye Records and has received hefty spins on college radio throughout the US and Canada. MTV and the WB have also licensed a version of “Scary”, recorded by their co-writing friend Heidi Stone, in 2003 and 2004. They currently have an artist endorsement deal with Godin Guitars. Known for insightful/quirky songwriting with catchy groove-based arrangements, their live shows have been hailed by many as a "must see", and have gained them a very loyal following along the East Coast. With tight musical interplay and comical, non-sequitur between-song chats, a Scharff Brothers concert is an event, not just another show.
