Yeah...

this is a really tricky topic. While it's true that most of the founding fathers, and most of the citizens of America at the time of its founding (the people who were actually counted as citizens, that is) were Christian, it's also true that Jefferson personally assured the churches that the government would establish no 'state religion'. That's the root of the 'separation of church and state'. That, in itself, does not seem to lead to the abolishment of all religion from government--not without significant 'interpretation'. BUT...it's historically evident that the people who end up in charge of religions with secular power are typically...very bad rulers. Why am I writing such a long comment? I have no idea. Nice shirt :) Bad GWBush! :)
