Siberian Iris have not been hybridized nearly as much as the regular iris we see more often. The colors are limited, but variations are available at nurseries from white to purple to some shades of pink and blue. These plants are cranky about being moved and replanted, so do it in September and plant in groups so they have company. Although they will grow okay in semi-shade and normal soil, they will be spectacular if grown in damp locations with fertile earth. The blooms are not huge, so growing in a grouping assures loads of color. Once established, they will reward you for all your hard work by blooming riotously for many, many years. A note: the roots are poisonous if eaten.
