Spetsnaz (Russian: Войскаспециальногоназначения, (спецназ, pronounced [spʲɪtsˈnas]) tr: Voyska spetsialnogo naznacheniya; pronounced [vɐjsˈkaspʲɪtsɨˈalʲnəvənəznɐˈtɕenʲɪjə]) are an umbrella term for any special forces in Russian, literally special purpose forces.
