This case bears the image of a Square in a Square quilt believed to have been pieced by Elizabeth Greenslate McKee of Greenup, KY who was born in 1837. She lived in Colorado from 1900 until her death in 1925. Members of her extended family were early settlers of Boulder County, CO.
The quilt is hand quilted with diagonal lines in white at nine even stitches to the inch. It was donated in 2001 to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Jere DeBacker, the wife of the maker's great-grandson.
