Omme Vivum ex Ovo Series (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek statement referring to the idea that all life originates from a germ) is an iconographic research dealing with the role of medicine in human history.
Certain allegorical themes have been taken into consideration for example, our notion of birth and maternity are related to a stoic role of woman in her struggle to provide and preserve life. By the same token, we can observe four women sustaining a globe, resembling the origin of human race and yet they appear to be chained to their circumstances.
The artwork of this series were all made from 4 drawings on Lexan film using litho crayon, rubbing ink, liquid Tusche, graphite and powder charcoal. The colouring took place digitally.
