Great Ocean Road is the original photographs of Sketchart26. They were all take on Wednesday the 13th of January 2010 on a road trip with my family. The design features photographs off, “The Twelve Apostles” which are massive stacks rising from the Southern Ocean and are the essential element of the rugged Port Campbell National Park. They come about through the continuous erosion of the limestone Cliffs of the mainland, which started to erode 10 – 20 million years ago. The Southern Ocean and winds little by little eroded the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs. These caves in time become arches, which later collapsed, forming rock stacks measuring around 45 meters in height. They were also isolated from the shore. Also Loch Ard Gorge, which are cliffs, The Arch, which is formed also through erosion, London Bridge (Broken), a natural archway and tunnel in a offshore rock formed through the waves eroding part of a softer rock. During 1990 the bridge collapsed and now has no middle. The Blow whole and lastly “The Grotto”, which was formed when the sinkholes in the limestone cliffs meet with the receding cliff line. It is now featured on Calendars and will soon be featured on products under the categories of Apparel, Accessories.
