The Romping Horse Print and Poster
by lillyartsCheval de Gambade (The Romping Horse) is a reprint of an original acrylic painting on fabric. The texture of the fabric can be seen through the brushstrokes. Part of a series of quick loose spontaneous fabric paintings. The excitement was in painting quick single strokes with the brush loaded with multiple colors. I never knew what would happen! One stroke was it.
Cheval de Gambade (The Romping Horse) was inspired by the horses in the beautiful ranches in Carmel Valley. While living there, I would walk to work down Carmel Valley Road in the early morning and watch their romps and antics as they played among each other on rolling hillsides. These were very happy horses! It was exhillarating to watch them.
