About this design
There Was an Old Woman Nursery Rhyme Tee Shirts
There was an old woman
Who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children
She didn't know what to do,
She gave them some broth
Without any bread,
She whipped them all soundly
And sent them to bed.
All of the children in this version of the nursery rhyme are girls wearing bonnets and round, patterned dresses. The shoe has a red roof and a tradesmen's entrance. Four little girls are climbing a ladder to the living room. One naughty child is sprinkling water from a watering can onto a small dog which is sitting beneath the words, "Beware of the Dog" written above the heel. The sun is rising, a spider is dangling from its web, a girl is pulling a toy horse and a bell affixed to the shoe has a long rope attached to it in this antique illustration from a 1912 children's book.
