Another print by the famous Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi who worked in the 19th century. Utagawa created a lot of prints with women as the main theme. In this print we see 3 Japanese ladies crossing a small river or stream, while trying not to get their kimonos wet from the water. This is a very colorful print when compared to other artworks of that time. Bright and happy colors were used - red, blue, light blue, a white / pink color, yellow, browns and more. As usual Utagawa has signed the artwork in Kanji characters and Hiragana (Japanese writing).
