About Elaine Foster-Barrick

My name is Elaine (also known as "Valerian") and I've been an active Zazzler since April 2004. I have been immersed in the nightlife of the post-punk/Gothic subculture for more than 25 years, and as a result my love for art and fashion is no stranger to strangeness. My artwork has been described as having a sophisticated flavor of dark romance, celebrating the dramatic beauty of the underworld; a sort of modern Toulouse-Lautrec (poster art of the late 19th century) with a bit of Andy Warhol (pop art of the late 20th century) thrown in.

In addition to painting, assemblage and digital art, my "day job" is creating elaborate vintage-inspired jewelry and hats, which are available for purchase in my online store Art of Adornment ~ Victorian Gothic Jewelry & Accessories.
