Victorian Art, Brother and Sister by Bouguereau Jewelry Box
Brother and Sister (1887) by Bouguereau is a vintage Victorian Era fine art realist family portrait painting featuring siblings. A girl holding a young boy, her brother. Although just glancing at the image one might think it was a mother holding her child. About the artist: William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) was an academic painter in realism and staunch traditionalist whose realistic style and mythological themes were modern interpretations of classical subjects.
