I often describe myself as a self taught artist but in truth I have had many teachers. Family, friends, kind strangers, writers, movie stars, rock stars, the great masters of art and my fellow contemporary artists have all influenced me and continue to contribute to my education in art and in life. So while most of the subjects of my paintings are born out of my imagination, by the time they are actualized I recognize them as something or someone I know very well.
