This photo was taken in Siwa, Egypt near the Libyan border. It is difficult to get to this area of Egypt and often visitors are not allowed to take photos. Kristie Burns lived in Egypt for 6 years, made friends and spoke the language. Because of this she was allowed to take photos that no one else was allowed to take. Today is it even harder to take these photos due to the current political situation and the rapid modernization of the country.
