About Botanist Ernst Heinrich Philipp August Haeckel (February 16, 1834 – August 9, 1919)

In his lifetime, the naturalist / botanist discovered thousands of new species and mapped a genealogical tree relating all life forms. He named biological terms including ecology, phylum, phylogeny, and stem cell. He created over 100 detailed botanical and biological illustrations in his Kunstformen der Natur.
