Vintage Dolly Laundry - A Busy Day in Dollville -a Little Girl's Life
What a gorgeous vintage illustration of a little girl doing her dolly's laundry. A little girl's work is never done! In fact, this little girl is washing her dolly's clothing, while her cute dolls look on. She's also dying some clothing to make it red, the perfect doll dress color! Such an old fashioned image of a little girl playing with her sweet dolls--and incredibly dangerous for a little girl to be left alone to boil a pot of dye. The illustration was originally a vintage Diamond Dyes advertisement from 1911. The little blonde girl has a lovely blue dress on, while she's working on her pot of red dye … Perhaps the best dress to be wearing would be something old, not a beautiful blue dress that looks like it's new! She's holding her little doll's dress over the hot dye, just to check to see whether it's done. Her row of dollies are in the background, watching the little girl as if approving of a new dress!
