William Bouguereau

William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825 – 1905), reportedly named by Degas and Monet as most likely to be remembered as the greatest 19th-century French painter by the year 2000, was a staunch traditionalist whose realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of Classical subjects.

We think Degas and Monet were correct.
