Rebecca, thanks for your feedback. The fox does look scrawny, but its pretty typical for the red foxes around here. I hadn't thought of it looking like a dog - maybe it was a poor choice for the cover! The whales kelping is another common occurrence around here. Because many aren't familiar with the behavior, I thought captions were especially important. I'm glad they functioned as I had intended!

Enjoyable calendar!

The red fox in July looks very domestic dog-ish (though a bit scrawny --poor guy) The February kelp-on-tail photo is an unusual one. I was relieved to enlarge it and read the explanation. At first I was afarid it was going to be caught in some leftover nets.
