This orangutan orphan is grabbing her own hair the way she would normally hang on to her mother in the rainforest. You can read more about her and ways to help this endangered species in the greeting card with her picture. Also, please visit the website www.orangutan.org (note ORG) -- to foster an orphan and read about the founder of OFI who has done the longest continuous study of a single species, -- the orangutan, the only great ape surviving outside of the African continent.
The artist donates 100% of her profits from the sale of this stamp to support the rescue work of O.F.I. 2009 update: Poor little Suss (sounds more lik Zeus when pronounced) still clings to her own hair.
Love this photo! Just glancing through your comments, I see that "precious" is the first thought of many who've left comments. =)
Though I'm delinquent in doing so, I'm stopping by to say thank you for your comment on my Season's Greetings stamp . THANKS A BUNCH!
Rebecca - Thank you for visiting my gallery and leaving your kind remarks. Yes, I find the Galeck music -especially Connie Dover very soothing. You items on Orangutans are very precious. Keep up the great work!
Hi Rebecca: MANY thanks for all your wonderful comments on some of the product in my gallery! It's greatly appreciated, as are your suggestions! I'm always looking for new ideas, so your input is very valued!! Thanks so much!!
Rebecca. you're a beautiful soul for what you're doing to help the orangutans. I was devastated yesterday when I got a product home that I brought my son and it had palm oil in it!! I truly hope they shut the palm oil industry down!
Thanks for all your support of my work... and for the wonderful suggestions...will definitely check out the fabric option... thank you so much!!
see you zazzlin.

She was one of the newest orphan arrivals when i was working with the orangutan orphans this past summer. I might be spelling her name wrong, but that is how her name sounded when pronounced by the permanent care takers. I use her name on the diapers I order and have shipped to O.F.I. Sometimes I wonder if the people who process the order comment on the strange name :-)
