A solitary female Wolf drank from the fresh-water stream as I approached from behind. She turned and looked at me for a moment while I took her photo, then she moved a little further upstream to continue quenching her thirst.
It occurred to me as she took what little she needed, that for creatures in the Wild, eating and drinking is never about greed, it's about need.
This beautiful female didn't show fear, just good common sense in moving 50 feet further up the creek. I was impressed by her instincts and by her intelligence. She sensed I wasn't there to harm her, but gave me space anyway.
