Guess what, Kyle1256... YOU LIE! The bill you mention was supported by Joe Wilson, but it wasn't a handout to illegal aliens. It was a bill that REIMBURSED the states for medical services to illegal aliens. The federal government forces states to provide emergency medical care to illegal aliens. And, of course, the federal government is responsible for failing to secure our borders. SO OF COURSE the feds should reimburse the states for this unnecessary burden. Thanks to the republicans who passed that bill. Nearly all dumbocrats opposed it. Hopefully it will become permanent.

You guys realize Joe Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent. Obama is far from perfect but encouraging this kind of behavior.... wow.

Yeah it was inappropriate, but so is Obama's blatant ignoring of the Constitution. Not to mention his penchant to tell complete and utter lies (no coverage for illegals (but there's no requirement to show proof of citizenship), no coverage for abortion (except it IS covered because it is not excluded under Physician Services), etc)... Not to mention the "I never knew Reverend Wright believed those things" (even though I went to that Church for 20 years...) He thinks we're stupid enough to believe him? Well, half of America was willing to shut off their minds and vote for him because he wasn't a Republican...
