The Siamese Cat also known as the pointed cat is one of many breeds of cats from Siam described and illustrated in Cat Poems written around the 14th to the 18th century. It is believed that the Siamese cat was first seen outside Siam in 1884, when a British Consul-General in Bangkok brought a breeding pair of the cats, Pho and Mia, back to Britain as a gift for his sister. Todays modern breed Siamese has a slim, flexible well-muscled body. Its head is triangular, with fine muzzle.The eyes are almond-shaped and light blue ( a feature found only in purebreds). The neck is long as is the body and it has a thin wispy tail. Fur is short, fine and adheres to the body with no undercoat. Siamese are generally social, intelligent cats. They are somewhat like dogs in their kinship for a single human. They are also very talkative and attention seeking. Less active at night they make ideal house cats.
