Cheese burger mouse pad
A cheeseburger is a hamburger which additionally contains a slice of cheese. It is not uncommon for larger cheeseburgers (such as a cheeseburger constructed with two large hamburger patties) to have more than one cheese slice. As a variant, melted or grated cheese is occasionally used in place of, or in addition to, sliced cheese. *********************************** In 1924, Lionel Sternberger grilled the first cheeseburger in Pasadena, California. When Sternberger died in 1964, Time magazine noted in its February 7 issue that: “ the hungry age of 16, [Sternberger] experimentally dropped a slab of American cheese on a sizzling hamburger while helping out at his father's sandwich shop in Pasadena, thereby inventing the cheeseburger... ” Other places have claimed the invention of the cheeseburger as part of their local legend. Louisville, Kentucky-based Kaelin's Restaurant has claimed to invent the cheeseburger in 1934.The following year, the trademark for the name "cheeseburger" was awarded to Louis Ballast of the Humpty Dumpty Drive-In in Denver, Colorado. *************************************** A cheeseburger can be served with many other toppings such as tomato, lettuce, onions, bacon, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, or whatever is desired. ******************************** A jucy lucy is a type of cheeseburger, developed and popularized in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the cheese is placed inside the raw meat and then cooked until it melts.*******A jucy lucy (or juicy lucy) is a cheeseburger having the cheese inside the meat patty rather than on top. A piece of cheese is surrounded by raw meat and cooked until it melts, resulting in a molten core of cheese within the patty. This scalding hot cheese has a tendency to gush out at the first bite, so servers frequently warn patrons to let the sandwich cool somewhat before consumption. The jucy lucy was apparently invented at Matt's Bar in South Minneapolis, Minnesota, though this is disputed. The 5-8 Club, a short distance south of Matt's, also claims to have invented the sandwich; this establishment uses the "juicy lucy" spelling. ******** The jucy lucy can be considered the cheesesteak of South Minneapolis, as it engenders similar feelings of protectiveness in many locals. However, reinterpretations of the lucy are encouraged, rather than quashed (unlike better-known signature dishes of some other cities, such as the cheesesteak or the Chicago style hot dog); for example, the Groveland Tap in neighboring St. Paul serves a "Cajun Lucy" featuring jalapeño peppers floating in pepper jack cheese.******************* A hamburger is a sandwich that consists of a cooked patty of ground meat that is usually beef. The meat can be grilled, fried, steamed, or broiled, and is generally served with various condiments and toppings inside a sliced bun baked specially for this purpose. Burgers are often served with french fries, potato chips, or onion rings.
