Of course, you want to see all of those smiling faces and messages of good cheer all throughout the season. Here’s one of the easiest ways to turn your holiday cards into holiday decor: creating a DIY holiday card garland!
The best thing about this little DIY decor is that you don’t need to be a crafting wizard to do it. Make this an annual family DIY project or throw a holiday party where everyone can make their own holiday card garland!
Supplies List for DIY Holiday Card Garland:
- String
- Hanging nails
- Clothespins
- Your holiday cards
- Optional: jingle bells for a fun seasonal accent
4 steps to making your own card garland:
- Measure out your string – Choose how long or short you’d like your string to be. This depends on where you’d like to hang it and how wide the surface area is.
- Select a number of clothespins – Clip on the clothespins with a little bit of distance between each other. You can hang 1 card per clothespin or double up! If you typically get a lot of holiday cards, plan on using a longer piece of string and more clothespins so each card can be seen.
- Add some holiday spirit – Tie a couple of jingle bells to the ends to make your holiday card garland a little more festive!
- Hang it up – Use hanging nails to place the completed garland over a fireplace or designated wall space.
