Lucy Pickens 1861 [gray] Galaxy S5 Pouch
A vintage 19th-Century engraving of the Southern beauty Lucy Holcombe Pickens, inspecting volunteer troops on Sullivan's Island SC in January 1861. Three months prior to the eruption of the Civil War, the Governor of South Carolina’s 28-year-old third wife and 15-year-old daughter Jennie, visited the militiamen encamped on lonely Sullivan’s Island. Their visit created quite a stir among the 1,100 young troops, prompting a hasty parade in the ladies' honor, which the correspondent William Waud witnessed and sketched for publication in the February 23, 1861 edition of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper. Unique and stylish, an ideal gift for anyone with a love of the Antebellum era and Civil War history.
