Michelangelo Creation of Adam Postcard
The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo The Creation of Adam is one of the most famous paintings in the world, created by master artist Michelangelo in Rome. The Creation of Adam is a classic fresco that Michelangelo painted in Rome's Vatican, on the Sistine Chapel, in 1511–1512. The Creation of Adam print on our gift is a portion of the fresco painting, showing the entire creation of Man in the Biblical Book of Genesis, where God (on the right) gives life to the first man, Adam (on the left). The painting shows the almost-touch of the hands, between God and Adam. The image is an iconic Renaissance painting. Michelangelo shows God as an old white-haired and white-bearded man, wearing a long white garment. Both God and Adam have their arms outstretched to each other, as if God is generating a spark of life into the new man Adam. The Michelangeo painting shows Man's likeness to God, showing God created humans in his own image. This image is the face of God in Michelangelo's painting.
