Hello, my name is James E Stewart, Jr., My line of products represents and celebrates the history of the Marine Corps, with a specific emphasis on products commemorating the Montford Point Marines, the first black Marines. In 2010 a bill has been passed in the Senate to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the Montford Point Marines. As the son of one of those first black Marines, and a Viet Nam era Marine Corps veteran myself, I am in possession of many photos, documents, and much memorabilia from the history of this pioneering Marine Corps units. I want to incorporate some of that history into a line of celebratory and honoring products. I am a new Licensee of the U.S. Marine Corps Trademark, as of April 9th, 2010.
Mr. Stewart, To follow-up on our phone conversation last week, Ms. O'Haver and I have had a conversation and this is how we would like to proceed. To the extent that you are using 'Zazzle' as your manufacturer (for any number of articles) and Zazzle is also a USMC license, you may and should continue order your articles directly from Zazzle and not limit your products to those 'LICENSED ARTICLES' defined in your license agreement (if you want to do watches, etc., that's ok). If and when Zazzle has any issue with your "Montford Point Mark" please refer them to me and I'll let them know that this mark is allowed for your use. You do not need to report the follow-on sale (resale) of any USMC-marked articles you purchase from Zazzle on a SCHEDULE B. If you choose to use a different manufacturer (other than Zazzle) kindly give us a call and we'll work through the issue.
