I like to do serious artwork, without taking myself too seriously.
Mark Richmond has been in the graphic design and fine art industry for 18 years now.
Since graduating SDSU in 1992, has been working at perfecting his graphical and illustrative abilities.
He worked as a character designer for 2 years at Cloud 9 Entertainment, taught for 1 year, multimedia program at Platt College, 2 years as an art director at IWSC Web Services in collaboration with IBM's e-business campaign. At IWSC, he designed one of the first e-commerce shopping sites, showcased by IBM in 1998 at InternetWorld conferences and the Superbowl's first online shopping experience at halftime which nearly maxed out their Raven Server.
After IWSC, Mark joined LPL Financial Services, first as a contractor, then for nearly six years as LPL's Director of Marketing & Multimedia. There he managed the look and feel of the company overall, maintained direction of the company website, managed a staff of 12 for online training production, and created high end multimedia presentations. In addition managed a $1M budget for annual conferences including signage, exhibit graphics, staging and multimedia presentations projected on 30 foot screens.
In 2007, he left LPL to pursue his dream of being a full time artist, and continues to do that in the present. Mark has a 25 ft mural in the San Diego International Airport, has published an illustrated novel "QUALA", and is currently working on a clothing line as well as a toy line that goes along with the book.
