This was inspired by a dream I had. The Synaptic Samurai…for when your message must really get there (faster than) overnight! Synapse Synapses are essential to neuronal function: neurons are cells that are specialized to pass signals to individual target cells, and synapses are the means by which they do so. In my dream, instead of bicycle couriers there were Synaptic Samurais. They were in charge of delivering messages from the unconscious to the conscious. Sometimes they fought great (and messy) battles in the brains of their masters. They did not always succeed in delivering their messages uncorrupted by other signals.
