The Kiss (1907-1908). Artist: Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). The Kiss (original Der Kuss) is probably Gustav Klimt's most famous work. He began work on it in 1907 and it is the highpoint of his so-called 'Golden Period'. The Kiss is a vintage Victorian Era Symbolism fine art love and romance painting featuring a romantic couple in various shades of gold, patterns and symbols, sharing a kiss against a bronze background.

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement.
