Vintage Celestial Eye Stars Moon Postcard
People in the early 1900s were into the zodiac and astrology, and this image of an eye surrounded by stars is from the time of mystics and romance. Created for a 1911 poster for an advertisement for a medical exhibition, this image features wonderful Art Nouveau stars, a dark blue background, and a really big eye with sunbeams radiating outward toward the stars, as if the eye were taking the place of the sun. Or, if you look at it as a mystical image, perhaps it's the eye radiating its powers out into the heavens? What fun!
The Astrological Eye and Stars
Maybe this mystic eye has something to do with a "third eye" or perhaps that your astrological sign can determine which foods and medicines are appropriate for you. Whatever the reason this was designed, it's a wonderful image, sure to make people stop and ask you about it!
