Vintage - Guinevere,

A vintage book illustration titled "The Last Hour" by Florence Susan Harrison depicts Guinevere in a passionate kiss and embrace with Lancelot. The illustration is from the book "Guinevere and Other Poems by Tennyson." The artist, Florence Susan Harrison (1877-1955) was born on board the Windsor Castle, a ship bound from London to Brisbane, Australia. Her father, Norwood Harrison, was a master mariner and ship’s captain, and his family spent much time of their time at sea with him. In between voyages, Florence attended a school run by a great-aunt in Folkestone, England. As an adult, Florence lived in England and for some time in Belgium. She was an Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite illustrator of poetry and children’s books including some books of her own poetry. Following Florence’s death, her artwork was often mistakenly attributed to Emma Florence Harrison, a Victorian-era artist who exhibited at the Royal Academy in the 19th century.
